100 years of Making Science and Invention Cool

Saturday Dinner

Although there may be other informal gatherings on Friday and Sunday, the convention dinner will be held at the Sheraton Mission Valley and will be followed by a radio-drama style live performance based on Tom Swift and His Airship, one of the original 1910 Tom Swift adventures.

If you wish to participate in the Tom Swift Convention Dinner on Saturday evening, you must book your seat in advance. Tickets will be sold until July 11th or until we sell out (seating is limited!).

Dinner:

You must register in advanced for the Dinner. Please use our Registration form.

You are welcome, even encouraged, to dress as your favorite Tom Swift character. If you prefer, you may also be another series book character, or use a retro space theme or steampunk costume. Costumes are not required but are encouraged.

There is an optional gift exchange of Tom Swift-themed gifts. You must bring a gift (wrapped) in order to participate. We recommend the gift be approximately between $10-$20 of value. It could be a homemade gift (for instance, using cover art from the series you could make paperweights or snowglobes) or merchandise from the Tom Swift 100 store. The gift could contain books or science-related items. You could give an old book on morse code and a telegraph key. You could have a build your own robot kit or other neat gadget which you, as a Tom Swift fan, would appreciate were you to win this gift. Please bring your wrapped gift to the dinner.

Dinner and trivia will be the main item of the evening but much fun will be had by all. We are still sorting out final details of the menu but this will be posted soon.

The dinner will be followed by a live presentation of a radio show based on Tom Swift and His Airship. Dinner participants will have a saved section of seats at the front of the auditorium.
